No, this is not an April Fool's joke... Carmen now has a new ride. She can get around much easier in this chair. She uses her right leg to maneuver from place to place. I think she gets a kick out of being in control of her wheelchair now.
These photos are from Carmen's first two days at the University of Washington. She's enduring intense rehab for the next 4-6 weeks. Although, she's expected to work hard she's happy to be there.
As we visited Carmen last night, her aides were getting her ready for bed and Maya noticed they had put on gloves. "I need gloves, I need gloves" she said until she got her gloves. As she was putting her gloves on I asked her if she was going to be a doctor when she grew up. She said, "I'm going to be a doctor so I can fix Carmen."
Carmen had the biggest smile on her face.
Here our some pics (from Ma's phone) of our recent snow. Although all of it has now melted, it was fun while it lasted. Sorry the pics are so small --- working to fix that.
